DETAILS: Karen Weldon killed in A Car Accident | Latest Update

(June 6, 2022) – ANOKA, MN – A accident between a tractor-trailer and an SUV claimed the life of a Coon Rapids woman on Monday, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
A 2013 Peterbilt tractor-trailer was southbound on Highway 65 near the intersection with 109th Avenue NE, according to an MSP crash report. The truck ran a red light and crashed with an SUV approaching from 109th Street.

Karen Lynn Weldon, 51, died as a result of her injuries sustained in the crash.

The truck driver, a 37-year-old East Bethel male, was sent to Mercy Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Accident Investigation

Candice Bond, an experienced tractor-trailer accident attorney, said that in such circumstances, an independent inquiry must be done as soon as possible to safeguard a victim’s rights.

“Tractor-trailer collisions are often complicated, and numerous circumstances can play a part in these types of incidents,” said Bond, a Managing Partner at Bond Legal.

“An experienced attorney can defend victims against trucking firms, which frequently send their own investigators to crash sites and have a number of resources at their disposal to defend a negligent truck driver.”

“While carefully leading a victim through the legal procedure, your lawyer can advocate for you by engaging expert witnesses, completing driver background checks, locating witnesses to the collision, and assessing available insurance coverage.”

WRONGFUL DEATH CLAIM

Karen Weldon’s family may seek compensation for losses such as funeral expenses, loss of income and companionship, and other hardships.

“A family member’s loss as a result of an accident is heartbreaking and devastating to the survivors. The feelings of bereavement, astonishment and rage can be overwhelming “Stefano Formica, a partner at Bond Legal, agreed.

He continued, “Aside from the emotional pain experienced by those left behind, the death of a loved one can have disastrous financial consequences. When a family member passes away, the loss of income and funeral bills alone can be devastating.”
