Leroy Williams was primarily a jazz drummer in the United States.
Williams began playing the drums as a child in the 1950s. From 1959 through the middle of the 1960s, he worked with Judy Roberts before moving to New York City in 1967 to work with Booker Ervin.
He began working with Barry Harris in 1969, after performing with Sonny Rollins, Archie Shepp, and Clifford Jordan in 1968.
In 1970, he shared the stage with Hank Mobley, Wilbur Ware, and Thelonious Monk, with whom he toured Japan.
Among the musicians who worked with William were Rodney Kendrick, Roy Hargrove, and Justin Roberson.
