John Barrowman has stated that he was there at the Berlin event, which resulted in one death.
On Wednesday, a car collided with pedestrians along the famed Kurfuerstendamm shopping street in Berlin, injuring over 30 people (8 June).
Barrowman, who plays Doctor Who, said he heard the “bang and the crash” in a Twitter video, telling his followers: “We were in a store, and then we came out and saw all the carnage.” “It’s really pretty bad, guys,” he said, revealing that he was sitting behind a tree on his friend’s advice “just in case anything else happens.” Later, he stated that he was returning to his hotel because “we don’t want to be on the street.”
“There are a lot of cops, there’s a dead person in the middle of the road, and over here, there’s all the emergency services attempting to help victims and people,” he stated in one video. A lot of folks are walking about with limps and injuries.”
He also complimented the cops for their “unbelievable” presence.
Martin Dams, a police spokesman, said the vehicle’s suspected driver had been apprehended. Five people have been reported to have suffered life-threatening injuries.
“It is thought that a man drove into a group of people,” police stated, adding that “it is not yet clear if this was an accident or a planned act.”
“Update from the horrific situation in Berlin…,” Barrowman captioned the video.
We’re OK.”
