New documentary shows: Fame was so hard for George Michael (†)

His death still leaves traces today. George Michael (✝53) was one of the biggest pop stars. On December 25, 2016, the singer suddenly died of a heart attack at the age of only 53 – but his songs remain unforgotten to this day. In a new documentary, viewers now get an insight into the musician’s private life: A trailer shows George Michaels ‘ honest impressions of the music industry.

The teaser on YouTube already gives a first glimpse of “George Michael: Freedom Uncut”. “I can’t really explain how overwhelming that kind of hysteria can be. I remember thinking, I really don’t know if I’ll ever do that again. And all I wanted back then was success ,” revealed the singer the dangers of the music industry and his handling of the great fame. His music was the most important thing for him: “I want to leave songs – I think I can leave songs that will mean something to other generations.”

The film is also set to explore Michael’s off-stage life and turbulent personal life. The death of his partner, who died of HIV infection at the age of 36, and the death of his mother are also addressed
