After being taken to the hospital, the 29-year-old woman is still in critical condition.
Following the untimely death of Trouble, 34, during a domestic quarrel in Atlanta, Chicago’s rap community has been rocked by the rumoured murder of FBG Cash, FBG Duck’s associate.
ABC7 Chicago reported on shooting early this morning (June 10) on the South Side, stating that it happened about 5:32 a.m. It happened at the 1600 block of West 81st Street in the Auburn Gresham neighbourhood.
“A man and a woman were inside a vehicle when a black four-door sedan, possibly a Cadillac, approached,” investigators said, adding that an unknown criminal exited the vehicle and started a fire on the occupants.
Cash was identified as the male victim by ABC7, which described him as a 31-year-old who “received several gunshot wounds throughout the body.” He was pronounced dead after being transferred to Advocate Christ Medical Center.
The woman with him, a 29-year-old woman, was wounded in the left arm and upper back and was brought to the same treatment facility, where she is still in critical condition.
According to police accounts, the offender re-entered the vehicle and drove away westbound. At this time, no one has been arrested, but two detectives are looking into the matter.
While some Twitter users were stunned to learn about FBG Cash’s apparent death, others were not as surprised given his recent dissing streak – see tributes and comments below, and stay tuned to HNHH for further updates on the Chicago South Side shooting. RIP
