While viewing the Platinum Jubilee Pageant on Sunday, Prince Louis demonstrated some decidedly unregal conduct.
In a video that has now gone viral on social media, the 4-year-old was filmed putting his hand over his mother Kate Middleton’s mouth.
When the Duchess of Cambridge, 40, tried to stop him respectfully – no doubt through clenched teeth – the rowdy teen made a variety of expressions, stuck his tongue out, and put his thumb to his nose while wiggling his remaining fingers.
Louis also chose to stand on his chair and toss a pillow, which is when Kate wisely opted to take a break and spend some time with her youngest.
Mike Tindall, who is married to Prince William’s cousin Zara Tindall, was taken aback by Louis’ behavior.
The retired rugby player was photographed telling Louis jokingly that he was keeping an eye on him (and no doubt expecting him to be a good little boy).
As the royal family gathered to wave, he stormed onto the balcony, barreling past his 96-year-old great-grandmother for a front-row seat. Louis was photographed making a variety of animated faces, including a scream, hands over his ears, and eyes clenched shut in response to noisy warplanes flying overhead.
Louis would eventually join his parents, siblings, Prince Charles, Camilla Parker-Bowles, and the Queen on the Buckingham Palace balcony at the conclusion of the Platinum Jubilee Pageant — but this time Mum was taking no chances. When her son, who bears a striking resemblance to her father, Michael Middleton, pushed forward, the Duchess stood close behind him and reined him in.
